Our story
Mike's Story
It wasn't that long ago that I started Fervor, with the express intention of working with a non-profit called C3 Missions International in Kansas City. But the story is bigger than that…
I had left my corporate gig at Sprint and was on a search, for something more. I had been climbing the "corporate ladder " for over 15 years. Working through college to shorten the time it took to get ahead. Sprint, Cox Communications, Software companies, you name it my goal was to take on the world of sales and marketing.
I moved to Kansas City (from Wichita) to work on the World HQ at Sprint with that express focus.
But as life would have it, there was a much different plan in store:
- - I left Sprint and the corporate climb
- - I stared a BBQ sauce company with 2 great friends called Heffys BBQ Co.
- - I got healthy, lost some weight and got into cycling
- - I traveled all over the US, then to Egypt, Paris and more…
- - I got hooked on helping orphan kids in Haiti
That trip to Haiti was a turning point, I dedicated a lot of hours helping C3 Missions (now The Global Orphan Project) conduct a major re-branding, renaming, story telling over-haul. They had a great story, it just needed a bit of refining and help being told.
That's where Fervor was born, on one of my trips to Haiti, I journaled that "it was fantastic to really witness God first hand, his people with passion and fervor following no matter what the circumstances". I didn't really get it until it hit me…..there are lots of people and organizations that have a great story, perhaps they just need some help making it real, relevant and repeatable.
