As a Fervor Brand Manager, Jessica Woofter loves serving Fervor’s impact-focused clients. “Our work helps facilitate good in the world. We’re doing things here for a good purpose.” Get to know Jessica.
At Fervor, Jessica is: a Brand Manager, serving as the key point of contact for clients. She’s charged with communicating their vision back to the team and building relationships too. “There’s a lot of agility in what we can do to serve our clients. When you know that you have a relationship built on trust, the big wins make it all worth it.”
Before Fervor: Jessica earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Missouri in International Business Management. Shortly after graduation, she started at communications agency GHG. Over her several years at GHG, she went on to serve as an Assistant Account Executive and then Senior Account Executive. She served local and global companies in the animal health sector — “everything from dogs and cats to cattle, swine and poultry!” Also while at GHG, she earned her MBA in Marketing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
What brought her to Fervor: Jessica first became familiar with Fervor simply driving by. “I passed by Fervor driving to work every day and started following along on Instagram to see what the team was up to,” she says. “I was drawn to the kind of work Fervor does for both for-profit and nonprofit clients. I was looking for a role that allowed me the freedom to help our clients break the mold and do something big.”
Digs Fervor because: It’s the people, both on the Fervor team and the clients. “Everyone is so nice and friendly,” she smiles. “And I like seeing the benefit of what our clients are doing — how they’re doing some kind of good.” She’s also a fan of Fervor’s no-silos approach to communication. “Being able to work with so many people within the client and among our creatives, everyone gets connected.”
Family: Kansas City is where both Jessica and her husband Erik grew up, with plenty of family still in town. And they love their Boston Terrier mix, Moose. “He’s basically our child!” she smiles.
Outside Fervor: Here in KC, Jessica enjoys playing KC Crew sports, especially volleyball. But when she can travel, Jessica jumps at the chance. “When I studied abroad in Brussels, I caught the travel bug,” she says. 2018 holds quite the itinerary for Jessica and Erik — throughout the year, they plan to head to the Master’s in Augusta, to the mountains in North Carolina and to Colorado.
A community she loves: Jessica and Erik have a close-knit group of friends, some Kansas City locals and some transplants. Most are mutual friends, or somehow connected to their college friends. She loves building these connections.
Favorite choice for a beverage test: “I like going to the Green Room in Westport and I usually drink a Torn Label Monk and Honey!” she smiles.
Favorite place for a cup of coffee: Jessica heads to HiHat, a cozy coffee shop in Westwood, for the HiHat Crush they have a HiHat Crush (a blended chocolate espresso drink).
Favorite reads: Jessica mainly reads non fiction, particularly historical books. She’s also a fan of the classics, like To Kill a Mockingbird and Pride and Prejudice.
What drives her up a wall: Disorganization. “I think almost anyone in a brand management role likes to stay organized!”
Fervor wouldn’t be Fervor without Jessica’s . . . drive to get it done: “I’m dedicated to doing what it takes to get things done for our clients. Once it’s on my to-do list, I work at it until it’s done.”
