Kansas City’s Best Happy Hours

There’s no better time to celebrate impact than happy hour. We’re proud to call KC home, and there are no shortage of happy hour spots to choose from in our fair city. So we polled the team and, after some healthy debate, we narrowed it down to our top five favorite happy hours in Kansas City. Kansas City’s best happy hours:

  1. Julep (Westport)

When we’re looking for classic cocktails with a modern twist, we head to Julep. The folks at Julep have curated quite the whiskey collection. Try a manhattan, sazerac, whiskey sour or old fashioned for just $5 during happy hour, Monday through Friday from 3 – 6 pm. Julep also features bargains on wine and beer, plus 25% off all whiskey.

  1. Il Lazzarone (River Market)

At Il Lazzarone, River Market’s Neapolitan pizzeria, it’s happy hour seven days a week from 3 – 6 pm, and again from 10 pm to close. Grab an authentic margherita or marinara pizza for $6 and 20% off all drinks. If you haven’t been to the back bar for a handcrafted cocktail, you’re missing out. Love Italian drinks? Il Lazzarone boasts the city’s largest selection of vermouth and amaro.

  1. Harry’s Country Club (River Market)

Happy hour happens Monday through Friday from 3 – 7 pm at Harry’s Country Club — but the best time to visit Harry’s is during happy hour on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Hey, it’s one of our favorite patios for a reason. There’s plenty to choose from on their great whiskey and beer lists, plus specials on classic bar food.

  1. Westside Local (Westside)

Whether in their urban farmhouse dining room or at a picnic table in their beer garden, we love happy hour down the street from Fervor HQ at Westside Local. The Westside Local menu features a local flare, and happy hour is no exception. We’re fans of their farm-to-table take on the classic charcuterie platter, $8 during happy hour. Selected beers, house wines and well drinks are $3, with $5 Dark & Stormys too. And don’t skip their french fries. (Trust us on this one.)

  1. La Bodega (Southwest Blvd. and Leawood)

With half-price tapas and half-price sangria, La Bodega is our top happy hour spot in Kansas City. Both of their locations feature happy hour from 2 – 6 pm Monday through Saturday, and 4 – 6 pm on Sunday. Indulge in your favorite hot and chilled tapas, most of which are half price. Try the classic tortilla española or pan con tomate (grilled baguette with homemade tomato fresco), or go off the beaten path with the pincho de pollo y chorizo (skewered chicken and chorizo with garlic cumin aioli). And there’s something about summer days on the La Bodega patio that makes their sangria taste even better.
